Session Information
Description: In the light of critics’ recent calls for more expansive reading practices, this panel takes aim at their effective inverse: the single-author study. It begins by asking how, and under what terms, single-author studies flourished and became part of the literary scholar’s tool kit. It then proceeds to examine the current status of single-author studies through discussions of research methods, publication, specific authors, accessibility, and teaching.
