Session Information
Description: New materialisms describe nonhuman, multispecies, and often ecological assemblages. How do these approaches meet or transform the materialisms of Marxism? Do all forms of Marxism look like humanisms? Conversely, what does a new materialist posthumanism lose that Marxist analysis can recover? Where might economic and ecological materialisms converge? Together, how do these materialisms assess the limits of the most commonly used concepts of the human?
