Session Information
Description: This session aims to be selflessly “self-ish”: where theories of sovereign selfhood seem to fail or run aground, we propose to reopen experiments with the self and its raced, classed, and gendered position as tactic, occasion, and gesture. We’ll discuss what it means to still care about the subject in postcolonial and diasporic theoretical traditions after Trump and #MeToo and in the current moment of agon between the heroic subject and snowflake discourse.
