Session Information
Description: With its claims to be one of the oldest civilizations in world history and a rising superpower in the twenty-first century, China is a paradoxical case. On the one hand, China is well known for traditions that show respect toward the land and nature. On the other, its history of modifying, exploiting, and even damaging its terrains and waterways is extensive. Panelists offer a cross-section of scholarship on China and the environment and emerging trends in research.
