Session Information
Description: The new Southern studies arose at the turn of the millennium to challenge the Southern exceptionalisms of both United States American studies and mainstream Southern studies. Twenty years later, the movement’s effect on either of the fields it sought to change remains unclear. Panelists seek to clarify and assess that legacy and assess where United States American studies and Southern studies still need to go.
