Session Information

Description: The session explores the relationship of Mexican film studies with theoretical trends in ecocriticism, posthumanism, affect theory, and gender studies; new developments in filmmaking (slow cinema and new documentary); and new approaches to melodrama. Panelists discuss how to address the question of national cinema in connection to the work of successful but also lesser-known Mexican filmmakers in Mexico and abroad.
