Description: Panelists trace the contours of twenty-first-century scholarship on Octavia Butler. What might engagement with Butler’s fiction offer to emerging or newly resurgent fields in the humanities? Why do activists and artists find Butler’s fiction so energizing? How do the newly available Butler archival materials change our understanding of her work? How has Butler studies changed over the years and decades? What is the future of Octavia Butler studies?
