2020 Program Sessions

683. The Letterpress Studio as a Campus Maker Space

8:30 AM–9:45 AM Jan 12, 2020 (US - Pacific)

Sheraton - Ravenna AB

Session Information

Description: What is letterpress doing in English departments in 2020? Even as much knowledge production has gone digital, students and scholars crave haptic, hands-on learning. Panelists attend to curricular aims and practical means for integrating analog and digital technologies in our teaching and institutions. Movable type draws attention to the materiality of text in dialogue with new fields such as digital humanities even as it indexes a centuries-long history of print production.
