Bio

Michelle J Brazier is an Associate Professor in English at Raritan Valley Community College in Central NJ. She completed her BA at Yale and her PhD at Rutgers in English Literature where she was also a WPA coordinating Basic Composition. She has taught developmental and FYC composition for 20 years. She is also active in the Modern Language Association (MLA) where she is Chair of the Delegate Assembly Organizing Committee. Her essay on teaching Gertrude Stein’s operas to first-time Stein readers was recently published in the MLA volume, Approaches to Teaching the Works of Gertrude Stein. Dr. Brazier is a member of The Role of Reading in Composition Studies SIG of the 4Cs. She is co-author, with Alexa Offenhauer, of a textbook forthcoming from Bedford/St.Martin’s, entitled Writing from the Inside Out: Reading Pedagogy for College (2020).
