Ph.D. Student at the University of Kansas


Christopher Peace holds a B.A. in Writing from Mississippi College and an M.A. in Literature from Jackson State University, where he completed his thesis entitled, "Zora Neale Hurston's Conjure Memes: A Post-structuralist Analysis of Mules and Men and Tell My Horse." He is currently at the University of Kansas pursuing a doctoral degree in rhetoric and composition. Some of his academic interests include the rhetoric of space and place, African American folklore, cultural rhetorics, African Diaspora spiritual systems, eco-composition, Afrofuturism, and environment studies. At the Project on the History of Black Writing at KU, he has worked with the Black Book Interactive Project and Black Literary Suite teams. He recently served as a graduate intern for the 30th annual ZORA! Festival of the Arts and Humanities in Eatonville, Florida.
