Session Information

Description: Editorial board members of the five-volume, 1.5 million-word Wiley-Blackwell Companion to World Literature, published in January 2020, discuss the practical deployment of hitherto largely abstract concepts in world literature. How did questions of canonization, literary history, and aesthetic categories play out in this nine-year project that brought together three hundred scholars from twenty-four countries and scores of traditions and fields?
