Alicia Gaspar de Alba is a founding faculty member of the Cesar E. Chavez Department of Chicana/o Studies at UCLA, and is currently the Chair of the LGBTQ Studies Program. She has published 12 books, among them 3 novels, 2 collections of poetry and short fiction, academic books, and several anthologies. Originally from the El Paso-Juarez border, Alicia lives in Los Angeles with her wife and adopted daughter.
