Nithya is a doctoral candidate at The Ohio State University. Her research interests include Multicultural and Global Children's Literature; War, Genocide and Displacement Narratives, and Picturebooks. She has taught courses such as Introduction to Children's Literature, Equity and Diversity in Education, Teaching and Learning with Drama: An Introduction, Reading Multicultural Literature Across Early Childhood Curriculum and Literature for Adolescents to pre-service teachers, undergraduates and postgraduates. In addition to this, she also teaches English Foundation online to a group of 7th graders in a rural school in India.
