Doug Hesse, Professor and Executive Director of Writing at the University of Denver, is a former President of NCTE, a former Chair of CCCC, and a former President of WPA, as well as having leadership roles in other organizations, such as MLA. He writes (and writes about) creative nonfiction, writing pedagogy, programmatic issues, national literacy issues, and relationships between composition and creative writing. He teaches undergraduate writing and literary nonfiction. He sings professional with the Colorado Symphony Chorus.
